Printed Items Some of our items that are generally ordered in large quantities are better suited to be printed as opposed to individually hand lettered. A single item is hand lettered, and then reproduced either in-house using a flat or screen printing process, or by a printer using methods such as letterpress or thermography. Examples of items that are best produced (and priced) as printed projects include invitations, stationery, announcements, save-the-dates, programs, menus, and gift tags/labels. Printed items are still uniquely hand lettered and can be customized with accents such as hand-tied bows and individual personalization. Frequently Asked Questions I would love to use Dear Rose Studio for all my event needs – when should I contact you? It is never too soon! Like any event vendor, multiple clients compete for my time and resources – especially during busy seasons, such as leading up to the holidays and from April to October. Schedule a consultation to discuss your project, and then I’ll determine how much time I need to dedicate to complete it to the best of my ability. Once you send in a deposit, that time on my schedule belongs to you. The services I offer often determine the style and theme of an event, and I recommend that clients meet with me toward the beginning of the planning process as our discussions can help shape your vision for the entire event, as opposed to using these items to tie details together at the last moment. The sooner you contact me, more you’ll get out of the experience altogether! I am having a very small event – do you have a minimum order requirement? No order is too small! Because most of our prices are per-item and inclusive of set-up, custom ink blending, and consultation fees, personalizing more intimate events with custom hand lettered accessories is simple and affordable. Basic place cards cost the same per piece whether you’re hosting 8 people for a luncheon or 300 for a black-tie dinner… and what better way to dress up your Thanksgiving table or summer barbeque than with fun place cards and menus? No order is too large, either. With enough advance notice, anything is possible! Can you accommodate last minute requests? I will accommodate last minute projects if my schedule allows – please call or email to inquire about your specific needs. Please note that rush charges will apply, and will vary based on how quickly your projects need to be completed. Please note that projects are not literally “rushed”. I put the same amount of care, effort, and time into each and every project regardless of how much notice I have to complete it. If I agree to take on your rush project it is because there are literally enough hours in the day to complete it in addition to the projects that were booked well in advance. However, because this additional time cuts into other activities (such as sleeping), additional charges will apply. If you book a project well in advance but require last minute adjustments, such as a place card for a late addition to the guest list guest or an envelope for someone you forgot to invite, these requests can be accommodated in small quantities at no extra charge for rushing, with the exception of expedited shipping expenses or expenses incurred due to obtaining special materials in an expedited manner. Late adjustments are often unavoidable, and within reason, are understandable and thus can be accommodated easily. However, for the sake of both your sanity as well as mine, I highly encourage each client to consider the possibility of any last minute needs well in advance. To absorb the cost of an extra place card in advance is far less stressful than making a panicked phone call to me at the last minute, incurring additional and expensive shipping charges, and risking the possibility of unavailable materials (such as paper). While I’m more than happy to help with any last minute snafus, it will cause a great deal of stress for any host, event planner, bride or groom, and may be avoided by considering all possible situations in advance. Do you provide proofs? I do when possible; however most of the work I do is not electronic and can only be viewed upon completion. Furthermore, many of the projects I work on vary from item to item – for instance, an order of 100 place cards consists of 100 different items – I can’t possibly provide a proof of each one. However, in cases where a project entails a great deal of customization, or in particular circumstances where design concepts cannot be accurately understood via phone or email, I am more than happy to send photos of examples and in most cases prefer to do so – it benefits both of us to have a clear understanding of your preferences. What is your return/refund policy? Due to the artistic nature of my work I cannot accept returns or issue refunds. Clients should be extraordinarily careful about reviewing information and text before submitting it for any project, and I will do my very best work in making sure that the spelling, punctuation, grammar, and case-by-case preferences that are submitted by each client are carried over in my work. I present each potential client with examples of my best work for their consideration and promise that I will uphold the same level of quality throughout each project. Can you custom blend any color ink? All projects include custom ink colors. If you have a very specific shade in mind it is helpful to send a swatch of fabric or other tangible sample of this color to me via snail mail. As each computer screen has different settings I will not accept color samples for ink matching electronically. However, even with swatches and samples custom blending does not produce an exact match (and even part of the charm of hand lettering), therefore swatches are not necessary for every project but are always helpful. I saw a unique & specific design that I really like on a different calligrapher’s website. Will you copy it? No... but let's chat about why you love it and we can create an original concept personalized just for you! |
